A fitness professional since 1991, Shellee dedicates her time to fighting obesity within our community, with a special emphasis on childhood obesity. Before founding Start Caring, she was the Area Director for over eight years at 24 Hour Fitness, overseeing 250 instructors and running programs with more than 600 classes per week. Her vast experience in the industry prepared her to branch out and begin this nonprofit company catering to improving the health and wellness of the community, especially the youth. When she's not working, Shellee enjoys training for triathlons.

Chelsea has been involved in fitness industry since 1996. She was a high school athlete, participating in volleyball and basketball. Her love for fitness and athletics led her to continue training and she eventually wrote and developed one of the first Bootcamp Fitness Programs in Melbourne, Florida. She has taught yoga, cycling, kick boxing, Pilates, boxing, weight training, and boot camps in Dallas, Houston and Florida. Although, fitness is her career of choice, her heart has always been in youth interactive programs. She is excited for the opportunity to combine her life passions -- kids and fitness which led her to being a coach for Start Caring Wellness, Inc. She has written and designed this program to fit the needs of youth and adults within the community. We know we can make a difference in their lives and the lives of their families. SC Wellness is going to make Fitness FUN!

Jovone Kordoban

Jovone has been a Fitness Instructor for over 13 years, starting out in Slidell, LA, teaching Hi/Lo and Step Aerobics classes. She continued to instruct when upon moving to Dallas in 1996. She was hired in 2000 as a Group Exercise Department Manager for 24 Hour Fitness, in which she directly managed over 150 employees citywide and was involved in the opening of the 24 Hour Fitness Supersport in Allen, TX. Although Jovone is no longer a manager for 24 Hour Fitness, she continues to instruct Boot Camp, Turbokickboxing, and cycling for the company. Jovone was recently written up in the Dallas Morning News for having the Best Boot Camp Class in Dallas at the 24 Hour Fitness in Addison, TX.

Shannon Piper

Shannon has been involved in health and fitness her entire life. She started out in dance at a very early age and taught ballet, tap and gymnastics to young children for several years. While she was a high school cheerleader, she qualified and competed in a National Ballet Competition in New York City. Shannon has continued her physical fitness into adulthood as an avid runner, yoga-enthusiast, bootcamp participant, and through other fitness groups.
This past year, she accomplished a couple of her goals by running her first half Marathon and then her first full Marathon in Washington DC - just a month apart. Shannon has been coaching bootcamp for Start Caring since July 2009, having been a bootcamp participant for two years prior to taking on the coaching duties! She believes that the key to success in health and fitness is commitment and consistency. You have to commit to the program and then make daily consistent healthy choices. Setting up accountability for yourself is also a key factor to success!

Curt Millward

Curt’s love for sports began at a very early age growing up playing basketball, baseball, football, wrestling, track and field. 
He is also is a black belt in Taekwondo and Judo and has experience instructing Kickboxing classes for 24Fitness.
Curt is a passionate triathlete and has competed in numerous triathlon events including 4 half Ironman events and is training for Arizona Ironman 2010. He has a particular passion and knowledge in swimming, cycling, and running. Curt has completed several marathons, including the Chicago Marathon, and major cycling events such as the MS150, Hotter than Hell 100, and Shiner Bash 100. He also has an extensive knowledge for nutrition and recovery. Curt is a strong believer that you need to listen to your body-- learn your physical limits –then CHALLENGE IT.

Teresa is a lifelong athlete focused on soccer and running. She is a volunteer soccer coach in Denton and strives to be a positive role model for young girls by being physically fit and healthy. She joined Start Caring's boot camp program to get back into shape after an injury and is now active in local running events and soccer.
